If you’re like most customers, you’ve probably had to deal with your cable service cutting out or charging ridiculous fees just so you can get your favorite channels – or even the most basic ones.  Today, though, there is an alternative to regular cable TV that will let you permanently save on cable TV bills.  That alternative is online cable TV.

Online cable TV does not require any special hookups, chips, or other costly hardware.  The way it works is that you sign up for an online satellite service, pay a one time fee to get the software, and then have access to all the same channels you would get if you paid for regular cable TV.

The downside is that online TV providers don’t give you access to internet or phone service on top of cable, so you’ll have to do those separately.  However, you’re eliminating one bill (your cable bill) entirely.

You can also hook up your TV to PC and vice versa if you still want to watch TV through your regular television set.  This can be done with simple AV cables – some which you might already have if they came with your TV.  So you don’t need to worry about being restricted to only watching TV on the computer.

Depending on which provider you choose, parental controls and other special features may be included in the software.  It’s important to know exactly what you’re getting and make sure the company provides excellent customer service.  If you can contact them before you purchase to ask questions you might have, all the better.

Considering that you get access to the exact same channels you’d get through regular cable TV and are saving a ton of time, money, and the hassle of dealing with cable companies, it’s worth it.
